EYE FILM MUSEUM

We are very proud that EYE Filmmuseum is our partner! Together we make art-video’s more accessible.

EYE, – the Filmmuseum of the Netherlands – is the national museum for films and is situated in Amsterdam. It preserves more than 50.000 films from all genres: an impressive database that contains film history, classic highlights, blockbusters, but also cult-films and art-movies. The Filmmuseum is praised and famous for its knowledge and expertise in the field of film-restoration and research.

The collection of EYE began in 1946 with the start of the Dutch Historic Filmarchive which became the Dutch Filmmuseum in 1952. In 2010 the name changed in EYE Filmmuseum. EYE doesn’t just acquire and preserve films, but also film posters, projectors, film music, archives from filmmakers etcetera. The emphasis is on films and articles which say something about the Dutch film and cinema culture. The collection spans the entire film history: every year old and new Dutch and foreign movie titles are added. The oldest film is from 1896.
